Why virtual number prices differ by app
Even for numbers from the same country, prices differ by app. Big apps that send lots of verification SMS use up numbers quickly, and apps with strict security do not accept numbers that were used before, so they need fresh numbers. That is why an accurate price needs both the app and the country.
Each app page lists the countries where that app currently accepts numbers, sorted by price. Start with the cheapest country, and if no SMS arrives, the amount goes back to your balance so you can move straight to the next country.
How to receive an app's verification SMS
Create an account, top up your balance, then choose the app and country on the get number screen, and your number appears right away. Enter it on the app's sign-up screen and request the verification SMS, and the code shows up in your console within seconds.
Each number waits 20 minutes for SMS, and codes to the same number in that time come at no extra cost. For accounts you will keep, number rental, which lets you keep the same number, is a better fit.
